Welcome to our Year 4 class page
English
Each half term we will be studying a high quality text. Within our English lessons, the children will be gaining a secure understanding of grammar, punctuation and spelling that is expected in Year 4. You can keep up to date with our learning via Class Dojo.
Your child will have spelling tests weekly so please ensure they are learning these at home in preparation.
Maths
You can keep up to date with our Maths learning via Class Dojo.
By the end of Year 4, it is expected for your child to be able to recall times tables up to 12 x 12. Children will be tested weekly on these times tables so please ensure they are making use of Times Table Rockstars as often as possible.
Reading
Your child will change their reading books each week and will have the opportunity to take high quality books home from our school library.  Please make sure that your child reads at least 3 times every week.  Home/School Diaries will need to be signed in order to show that your child has read.
PE
During Autumn 2018, your child has the opportunity to attend swimming each Tuesday morning. However, they will also have PE lessons in school so please ensure that a full PE kit is in school each week.
Communication
We can communicate through Class Dojo daily. It enables you to keep up to date with what your child has been doing during the day as well as keeping track of their rewards and successes. Daily reminders and important information will also be shared on Class Dojo so be sure to check frequently.

I hope your child has a successful and enjoyable time in Year 4 and I am looking forward to seeing them progress over the course of the year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send a message via Class Dojo.
